Abdulla Shifan Hassan has been excited about this year’s Moodhu Maakan’du Festival after taking part in last years first festival. He is looking forward to the events added this year, The Treasure Hunt.

He sets off to the school to take part in this year’s festival that was delayed due to bad weather. Since the sky has cleared up now, he is hoping the students from neighboring islands are able to make it to Ukulhas on time.

Students on their way to AA.Ukhulhahu school to meet up and go welcome the participants from other Ari Atoll islands.

As the team from Feridhoo arrives, Shifan and his classmates go to receive them so that the Festival can finally start after being delayed for 30 minutes due to rough seas.

Shifan, along with his twin brother Shafeeu line up to get the festival underway.

The first event of the day is a miming competition where participants are given a marine creature to mime while their team mates guess what it is they got.

Shifan’s team gather around the banyan trees at the harbor to go through the clues and discuss them.

The clues are made up of popular children’s stories and cartoon characters.
