Accept our children as the children they are.

Ahmed Nabeeh, the singer of this song, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3. He recorded this song for Autism Awareness Day 2011.

Music and poetry composed by Nadhu (Behavioral Therapist for children with special needs).

“I was his teacher for a while and came to notice that he had a hidden talent of superb voice controlling. He was a great singer and recited the Quran beautifully. There wasn’t a day that he wouldn’t be singing in class, he usually sang the songs he hears on TV. I wanted to give him an opportunity to sing a song of his own and expose his talent to the public, which I truly believed is a gift given to him. I wrote up the lyrics according to my experience and thoughts being around kids with Autism. However, I do not know if this is his true feelings.

I just wanted to give a message to the public: to accept our kids as they are. After this song he got the opportunity to sing in the Inter-School singing competition last year. I am so glad his talent was accepted by the community and that he was not judged for his Autism.”
